How do you feel when you see a "BFN"?

A BFN (internet shorthand for a Big Fat Negative or a negative pregnancy test) is no doubt one of the low points when you're trying for a baby.  And when you've been trying for a long time, it's something you've had to face all too often.  Although the advice is to wait until your period is late to avoid negative test anxiety, many people (myself included) by the very nature of their fertility issues have to test early to avoid early miscarriages (also known as chemical pregnancies).

So, it's first thing in the morning and you're alone in your bathroom, faced with the sight of just one blue line and not two.  All the possible pregnancy symptoms you'd been experiencing over the last few days now hold no significance and you feel like your world is crashing down.  Facing another negative test can make you extremely sad, anxious and dispairing to name just a few of the feelings that may overwhelm you at this time.  Although it is perfectly natural - and expected - to feel disappointment when you see a negative test, the intense negative emotions are something we can definitely do without, and the EFT exercise below will reduce them for you.

Set Up Phrases:
"Even though I'm so upset by this negative test and can't believe I'm not pregnant again, I deeply and completely accept myself."
"Even though I'm devastated that I'm not pregnant, I deeply and completely accept myself."
"Even though I'm so worried that I'll never see a positive test and just can't imagine seeing 2 blue lines, I deeply and completely accept myself and look ahead with hope."

Then tap and say:
Top of head: "I'm so upset I'm not pregnant"
Eyebrow: "I can't believe I'm not pregnant this month"
Side of eye: "I hate seeing these negative tests"
Under eye: "I'm so devastated that it's over for me this month"
Under nose: "I just want to cry looking at this test"
Chin: "When will it be my turn?"
Collarbone: "I can't face this disappointment"
Under arm: "I so want to be pregnant, it's not fair"

Now try a tapping round with positive statements:
Top of head: "I can deal with this negative test"
Eyebrow: "I acknowledge how disappointed I feel"
Side of eye: "And I can look ahead to my next chance to conceive"
Under eye: "I look forward to another chance"
Under nose: "I can start again to prepare myself for pregnancy"
Chin: "I can move on from this test and think ahead"
Collarbone: "I look to the future with hope"
Under arm: "One day I will see my positive pregnancy test"

Use these EFT tapping rounds as many times as you need to, to give yourself support during this upsetting time.  I hope you find that applying EFT to all your feelings of sadness and
disappointment, helps you move on to the next cycle and the next opportunity to get pregnant with a feeling of hope, expectation and quiet optimism; really putting you in the best mindset for conception.
